(Our) Unwritten Relationship Rules

We were not the typical couple. Matter of fact, I still can't believe how we got this far. Even the very few people who knows us are still in disbelief that AFTER 6 YEARS.... finally, we have the odds in our side.
It was not an easy journey.... but looking back, I can surely, totally, definitely say ----- IT'S ALL WORTH IT!

Love month is fast approaching... and I am a bit nervous of what's gonna happen. Last year's Valentines went terrible wrong! So let me ease my paranoia by sharing you guys our best practices to living in peace and in harmony with each other (ahihihi).

1. NEVER LIE

Even if it would hurt each other, we prefer not to tell lies. Honesty at all cost.

2. Never make a decision alone if half of us is gonna be affected.

We don't have to consider each other for every decision making that we do. But of course, we need to consult each one if the action's affecting both of us.

3. Always say Thank you, Please, and Sorry

In short, communicate kind words. We both grew up with dysfunctional families. My dad is a nagger. His mom is a nagger too. We both lived with families where cussing and swearing is normal. We don't want to bring that language to our future family.

4. Philippians 2:3

"Consider others better than yourselves..."

5. Rather than asking for the right one, be the right one.

We still argue on a lot of things. Even after 6 years, there are still attitudes and characters we can't stand from each other. But rather than demanding change from each other, better be the change you wanna be. ;)

6. Spoil your partners from time to time

Just as he massages my aching knees and feet after all the day's work, I make sure to spoil him one way or another. Need not to be extravagant. Small deeds like a post it with chocolates secretly placed inside his bag, or surprising him with a homemade lunch at work are perfect examples.

7. Pray and Seek Counsel

True love is never "you and me against the world". True love is loving God, and loving people. Involve each other's families in your relationship. Know each other's friends, and seek counsel from elderly/pastors for any disagreement. And most importantly, let God be the center of the relationship.

8. Lastly, Never Sleep Your  Issues Away

No matter how hurtful it is, we never let a the sun set without us fixing whatever that needs to be mend. No matter how hard things are. We address the matter right away and discuss best possible solutions. We don't just sleep and hope that things will go away. Anyway, as the old adage goes, "walang bagay na hindi nadadaaan sa mabuting usapan".

Mahal, iloveyousooomuch!

"Complement" vs "Supplement"

English 101:

To Complement usually means that the thing/person that it goes with becomes complete or perfect. To Supplement, however, only helps that thing/person.

So, you were saying???

Yes my darling... YOU COMPLEMENT ME! :)

Randolf Salamat

"Settle down, it'll all be clear
Don't pay no mind to the demons
They fill you with fear
The trouble it might drag you down
If you get lost, you can always be found

Just know you’re not alone
Cause I’m going to make this place your home"

Hahahaha.... may muntik akong masunog ng buhay dito eh... hahahaha...  (Iniwan ko ung niluluto ko hahaha)

You're Gonna Miss Me When I'm Gone ;)

Confident enough... I can SING, YEEEEP!

"You're Gonna Miss Me When I'm Gone"....

[Verse 1:]

I got my ticket for the long way ‘round
Two bottle ‘a whiskey for the way
And I sure would like some sweet company
And I’m leaving tomorrow, wha-do-ya say?

[Chorus 1:]
When I’m gone
When I’m gone
You’re gonna miss me when I’m gone
You’re gonna miss me by my hair
You’re gonna miss me everywhere, oh
You’re gonna miss me when I’m gone

[Verse 2:]
I’ve got my ticket for the long way ‘round
The one with the prettiest of views
It’s got mountains, it’s got rivers, it’s got sights to give you shivers
But it sure would be prettier with you

[Chorus 2:]
When I’m gone
When I’m gone
You’re gonna miss me when I’m gone
You’re gonna miss me by my walk
You’re gonna miss me by my talk, oh
You’re gonna miss me when I’m gone

Melman and Gloria

Some months ago, we were watching Madagascar 3... then this scene was flashed. For those who don't know the movie, this was the part where the animals, in desperate attempts to go back to the zoo where they came from, they pretended to be circus performers so they can join the traveling circus crew back to New York.

Then this scene... I remember it clearly... The giraffe (Melman) was trying his best to dance on wires. And when he was about to fall, a hippopotamus (Gloria) climbed up and offered her hand. And taught him how to dance, and not to fall off the high wires.

Melman: I can't dance!
Gloria: Maybe that's because you've never tried it before.
Melman: I *have* tried it! I practice in private because you're so good at it...
Gloria: You practice? For me?
Melman: Yeah, but... It's no use! I never know what to do with my arms.
Gloria: That's the easy part.
[wraps Melman's arms around her neck]
Gloria: You just put your arms around your partner.

Gloria: It's just like dancing; two steps forward, one step back...

(*Unfortunately, I can't get an English clip)

Hindi ako nag re react nun... I was just enjoying the movie... when all of a sudden, you looked at me, and hugged me... With all your smiles, sabi mo, "Tayo yan oh? Ikaw yung Hippopotamus...  literally... tas ako yung giraffe.... Tinuturuan mo akong sumayaw sa wires... at hinahawakan ako para hindi mahulog?"

And that day, I was so so happy... Regardless if you just compared me to a hippopotamus. I even concluded... maski man ako, hindi marunong tumulay sa wires, pero I would cross that thin line just to be there for you... Kung babagsak ka, kasama mo ako...

Haaayy.... seriously in tears...

I will always be your hippopotamus... iloveyou ;)

White Sand Christmas: Patar Beach Bolinao, Pangasinan

Patar Beach Bolinao, Pangasinan
December 24, 2012

I was really excited of this trip. Yeep! White Sand Christmas indeed! Perks of having friends in the different parts of the country! LOL! You get to have uber cheap vacation trips with guaranteed money back! wahahah :D

At the Patar Light House

Some say that Patar Beach is better than Boracay... Well, I'd give it a plus for still being less commercialized, but next to Bohol's Panglao Beach, for me, Boracay still is the best beach in the Philippines.

Go Kart

Kart-Track Boomland
October 18, 2012

Still a part of Randolf Salamat's birthday celebration, I collected all my guts and tried to do Go Kart racing with him. Some 2 years back, we went to Subic to visit Le Man's but it was moved to some unknown far away land when we got there. So I thought it would be a perfect gift for him, feeding his hunger for speed.

The rate was 495 pesos for 15 minutes, and additional charges for accessories like ballaclava and racing suit.

F na F lang

Needless to say, Pinaka pogi ka na sa kin! :p

Go Kart racing is perfect for those who really love speed, but not for me. I was not able to sit properly, and since I am small, I can't reach the clutch. They had poor service. I know we were supposed to know everything the moment you stepped in the kart, but still, someone should have oriented us, even for safety's sake. Pfft! Also, their place was so in an isolated lot. It took us 30 minutes to figure out that there's some race track at the back of Wensha. The place, especially the front lot looked like some kidnapper's hideout.

Anyhow, it was still a happy evening. Especially that I got to see my baby really be happy on his birthday. Iloveyou Choy! :D
